Description
The Maine Department of Corrections operates Industries Programs in five of their Adult Facilities, training inmates in woodworking, upholstering, engraving, logging and lumbering. Inmates are able to learn job skills, exercise creativity, as well as bring in dollars to support the cost of the room and board.
This jewelry box was made by a Maine State Prison inmate, box is stamped on the bottom. The wooden box measures 5 3/4" x 4" x 3" at its tallest point. Interior of the base is lined with felt and interior lid is mirrored.
Simple and meaningful.
