Description
"Moon over Eastside" by Richard Benjamin. 14" x 19" #36/100. If you enjoy the sights, sounds, and scenery of Providence, or want to celebrate your Rhode Island roots, this beautiful photograph is the perfect piece of art for you.
Artist Info: Richard Benjamin, born in Woonsocket, R.I., has lived in Providence (on Orms St. where the Marriott is now located) and from age 10 onwards, he grew up in the Riverside section of East Providence, in the shadow of Crescent Park. He attended Brown University for three years, leaving in 1960 to join the Army, to be stationed in Germany, where he worked for the Armed Forces Recreation Center as a publicity photographer, doing photo essays on local attractions, which would then be published in the Stars & Stripes.
His prints are personally and individually made in limited editions using the latest archival materials, which have been tested to produce a display life of over a hundred years – more than four times the life of a traditional photo print.
Over the years, Richard’s prints have been collected by many individuals and businesses for their homes and offices throughout Rhode Island and other states. His work is sold exclusively through Picture This Galleries in Providence and Wakefield.
Richard was also commissioned in 1996 to do a coffee table book on Roger Williams Park. He has recently completed a second coffee table book, photographs of Rhode Island, published by Commonwealth Editions. In addition to books, Richard has also had ten calendars published over the years."
