Artist Statement: I began experimenting with mixed media. The challenge for me was how to use disparate materials to create unified work. Immediately the converse became interesting; pushing the balance between the unity of the piece and maintaining the separateness of the elements, allowing them to read for what they are…fabric, wood, text…I became fascinated with the versatility of printed surfaces and the possibility of using oscillating yet planar textures & patterns to carve space.
