Information on Col Jay R. Vargas USMC

April 30 to May 2. 1968, Dal Do, Vietnam.  For 3 days Capt Vargas led Co. G of 2/4 Marines in fierce combat with a vastly superior NVA force which overran parts of 2/4's position.  Despite eing wounded 3 times, Vargas skillfully and courageously led his Marines in defeating the NVA who withdrew with grevious losses.
