Description
The Wing is dedicated to immersing you in uniquely American stories of survival, success, conflict, compassion and hope. Through our guided tours and ongoing exhibitions, you can experience real life stories of the Asian Pacific American community. We encourage you to explore both inside and outside our Museum walls.
The Chinatown-International District neighborhood is an important part of Seattle's history and cultural vibrancy. All admission options include an all-day pass to our gallery exhibitions. This way, you can come, leave to grab a bite at a nearby restaurant, and then come back if you wish. We want you to give you time to explore, linger and dig a little deeper into our story. Also included in this package is the option of a private guided tour of the Historical Immersion spaces, galleries or Chinatown.
Dates and times must be mutually agreed upon with experienced docent and tour guide, Tanya Subcleff, WPIG's vice-president.
Choose between a Historical Hotel Tour or Touch of Chinatown Discovery tour.
Historical Hotel tour: Follow the footsteps of Asian Pacific American pioneers and explore the places they called home. Step inside a real 1910 shop that sold import goods and tickets to the Blue Funnel Line steamship. And enter an authentic Chinese American family association with its original tin ceilings and mahjong games. This tour takes you through fascinating historic spaces accessible only by guided tour.
Touch of Chinatown: On your guided neighborhood tour, discover Seattle's Chinatown-International District through the eyes of a local. Smell the fragrance of Chinese herbs, hom bows and roasted duck. Experience the sights while learning about the facts, myths and legends. And learn more about the diverse contributions of Asian cultures to the city and the Pacific Northwest.
