The path to higher education can be complex. University Admissions Counseling can help.
This "senior package" will provide four (4) one-on-one sessions which will encourage your student to explore, identify, and build upon their interests, determine his/her college fit, and develop a plan to achieve his/her higher education goals. For a high school senior during the 2015-16 school year, this experience can be in-person meetings or via Skype or Hangouts.
Sessions are tailored to meet the need of the student but could include:
- Exploring and developing a college list
- Essay/Personal Statement development
- Strategize a college application plan
- Building an extra curricular resume
- Logistical support with applications
- Scholarship and Financial Aid application assistance
Independent College Admissions Advisor, Lori McCormick, has been working in the college admissions and counseling field since 2006. She holds a Master of Arts degree from Antioch University in Psychology, Career Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her philosophy is to provide support and tools for students to develop a personalized path to academic, vocational, and personal success. Lori also co-writes the blog, "Thinking About College" for the Palo Alto Weekly.
