Masterworks II - Classical Kings November 23, 2014 at 3pm

Mozart and Beethoven, kings of the classical era, face off in this Masterworks concert featuring pianist Daniel Shapiro. Maestro Richman continues his Beethoven cycle with the composer’s stirring Symphony No. 7.


Masterworks III - Midori and More Feb. 1, 2015 at 3pm

Internationally renowned violinist Midori joins the BSO for a special performance and weeklong educational residency as part of the Orchestra Residencies Program. For this Masterworks program, Maestro Richman also explores the orchestral splendor of Jean Sibelius with two of his most spellbinding works.


Masterworks IV - Russian Masters March 8, 2015 at 3 pm

In March, the BSO tackles two pillars of the repertoire: Rachmaninoff's lush and romanticPiano Concerto No. 3 and Shostakovich's powerful Symphony No. 6. Pianist Norman Krieger joins us for the Rachmaninoff in what is sure to be a performance to remember.


Masterworks V - Serenade to Music April 12, 2015 at 3 pm

The BSO's 119th season closes with a program of uplifting and spiritual works, beginning with Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Jennifer Higdon's blue cathedral.The concert also features Brahms' Variation on a Theme of Joseph Haydn before the orchestra is joined by the University of Maine Singers and Oratorio Society for Vaughan-Williams' Serenade to Music. The program and season concludes appropriately with Bruckner's larger than life setting of the Te Deum, a performance you won't want to miss.
