"Red Stone's story started over 10 years ago here in the heart of New York City. After a long career developing brands and concepts for other 'fast food' companies, owners Tony Tertiropoulos (born and raised in Greece) and Vera Giannaris (Manhattan native) realized that too much time was invested in expanding quickly and not enough on serving quality food to the community. They wanted a place where they could feed their own kids without feeling guilty, and so, they embarked on a mission to take their time and prepare real, home-cooked and healthy food for their neighbors.

"Red Stone starts with fresh, and by fresh, I do not mean fresh out of the freezer, or fresh from a factory far, far away! The ingredients used at Red Stone Café are hand selected, locally grown, and delivered daily. Part of the restaurant mission is to help support and sustain local farms, while obtaining only the highest quality produce, dairy and meats, with no added hormones or antibiotics. "I live and work in the neighborhood. Red Stone is a great addition. It is a sandwich and salad shop. Their create your own salads are great, fresh ingredients and the turmeric tofu is a veggie's delight. I have also tried their quinoa bowls, which also were very tasty. My work also orders from here at least once per week and the staff at Red Stone is very accommodating and pleasant. Excellent customer care. Highly recommend Red Stone for lunch."
