Description: Rare Franklin Mint Limited Edition Star Trek Checkers set with glass checker board. The checker board playing surface is 15 1/2" in diameter, 1/4" thick, heavy round blue glass with the playing field designed to look like an original series Enterprise display screen. On the back side of the checker board, are 4 rubber feet mounted to prevent sliding or scratching. There are four 18K gold Starfleet emblems printed around the outer edge of the playing surface. The checkers are 18K polished gold and sterling silver plated over pewter. The gold checkers are engraved with the original Enterprise in flight on one side, and the Star Trek Starfleet emblem on the reverse. The sterling silver checkers are engraved with the original series Klingon Battle Cruiser in flight on one side, and the Klingon Empire insignia on the reverse. The checkers are stored in a custom padded case that is 10" long, 7" wide, and 1-1/2" deep, with padded silver cloth covering the outer case and the words " The Official Star Trek Checkers Set" in black letters on the front.
