"Gold in color, this wine has aromas of citrus and pear. Apricot and pear dominate on the palate with layers of honey. The long toasty finish with nuances of creamy vanilla seems to last indefinitely. A slight crispness allows for matching with fish as well as big chicken or pork dishes.

Vrai Cote Pinot, Sonoma: $30

With a deep ruby hue this wine is everything Pinot Noir. Both depth of fruit and a sense of wound strength are apparent in the aromas of this youthful Pinot. Aromas of strawberry, black raspberry and dried rose petals burst from the glass with undertones of clove, leather and juniper berry. The flavors carry through on the pallet which is richer than the aromas predict. This impressive bottling can be enjoyed with great pleasure already, but will continue to impress over the next two or three years.
