Description

Accompany Daniel Einstein, historic and cultural resources manager for UW-Madison, on a walking tour of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve on the UW campus. Discover the fascinating and little known human history of Frautschi Point and Picnic Point on the shores of Lake Mendota.

From ancient Indian burial mounds, to long gone farmsteads and summer cottages, to unfufilled plans for a major residential development, this natural area offers one of the Madison area's most interesting rambles.

In addition to his focus on UW-Madison history, Daniel has led architecture tours for the Madison Trust For Historic Preservation and the Aldo Leopold Foundation.

Special Instructions

You may bring up to 4 people (in addition to yourself) on the walking tour which will last 2-3 hours.  Must be scheduled by Dec 31, 2015.  Donor will schedule directly with winning bidder.
