These mussels are the only "Dutch-Style"cultivated mussels in North America... owner-operated by a fifth-generation Dutch mussel farmer (Theo de Koning). This family run company leases 160 acres in pristine waters of Frenchman Bay off Bar Harbor, Maine.
The Mussels are processed at sea on the boat. This saves a few days of shelf life over competitors whose mussels spend extra time in processing plants. Their harvesting techniques yield Good-sized mussels with good-sized meats, which are then graded, purged and de-bearded for the end user.
Sustainable Aquaculture -- A graduate of an advanced fisheries school in the Netherlands, Theo de Koning is using the most advanced technology and best practices for fisheries management as a steward of this valuable resource.
Special Instructions
The gift certificate can be used in increments and the purchaser may purchase more than one if available. The purchasers can contact Turner's about shipping the seafood and the purchaser is responsible for covering all fresh seafood shipping costs.
