Description

This small vase is from the province of Guaitil de Santa Cruz and San Vincente de Nicoya.  These towns continue their ancient tradition of making ceramics started by their Chorotega ancestors.

These ceramics are made from local clay and are decorated with "curioles" which are natural paints which come from the same ground.  The designs represent their makers' indigenous customs.

Vase measures approximately 6" high.
