Artist Statement
I have always enjoyed a coincidence. To find a connection between unrelated events or things seems like a sort of magic. Part of the magic of art is how it uses coincidence to connect a variety of people.
My subject matter is most often figurative. When I imagine a future piece I automatically begin to place a figure within it. The posture of the figure is very important to me because it can convey a mood or feeling.
I use a variety of medium including oil and acrylic paint, charcoal, pastel, Primsacolor pencil, and lithography ink.
To make art that simplifies a coincidence and creates a sense of familiarity is my goal. I want to capture a moment and share it.
