Experience the magic of the harp with a Julliard trained professional, Wendy Kerner.  Enjoy a forty-five minute first harp lesson or get acquainted with the harp at Wendy's studio in Wilton.  


 


WENDY KERNER, harpist, was presented in her New York Debut in Carnegie Recital Hall as a winner of the Artists International Competition.  She has appeared in concert throughout the United States, performed at the World Harp Congress in Paris, France, and Seattle, Washington.  She has performed at the National Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, DC and performed under


their auspices on tours throughout Illinois and Kansas. She has also played for numerous synagogues throughout the Northeast and for the United Nations, the Prime Minister of Ireland, Queen Sirikit of Thailand, and former First Lady Hillary Clinton.  Ms. Kerner has been heard on WQXR, Voice of America, and National Public Radio.  She is the principal harpist with The Bridgeport, Norwalk and Ridgefield Symphonies in Connecticut.  Her CD "Sounds of the Seine" with flutist Donna Milanovich is available on the Delos label. 


 


Ms. Kerner, who began the harp at the age of seven, was a scholarship student at The Juilliard School where she received her Bachelor and Master of Music Degrees in Harp Performance.  Ms. Kerner maintains an active teaching studio in Wilton, CT. Her students have won awards for harp performance from the National Federation of Music Clubs, the American Harp Society, the Stamford Symphony, and Manhattanville College.  Numerous students have participated in the Norwalk and Ridgefield Youth Symphony orchestras and the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic. Ms. Kerner was chosen to judge the Karl Carlson National Harp Competition in California, and the American Harp Society National Competition in Delaware.  She has worked with Young Audiences and the Lincoln Center Student Program, performing extensively for schools.  She is also the Chairman of the Music Committee for the Friends of the New Canaan Library and the Vice President of the CT Chapter of the American Harp Society.
