"Scent of Fall" is an original oil painting on canvas by East Bay artist Julie McCray.

Julie McCray has studied painting with Mel Ramos, lithography with Kenjilo Nanao, art history with Mark Levi and ceramics with Clayton Bailey, each of whom left their mark on both her work and her world view in different yet amazingly complementary ways.

After an extended break from the easel to start an art gallery in downtown San Francisco and then savor the raising of her two children, Julie has taken up the pallet knife again. Her newer works have a freer style with an atmospheric simplicity much like the East Bay hills of her home and the California sky above them.
