La Balena features a rustic Italian menu emphasizing local produce, hand-crafted pasta, and slow-cooked meats. Proprietors Anna and Emanuele Bartolini and chef Bradford Briske strive to source local, fresh and sustainably organic ingredients which they then transform everyday into hand made cuisine.

Located in downtown Carmel on Junipero between 5th and 6th, La Balena was recently voted the best new restaurant of 2014 in the Monterey County Weekly's annual poll.
