2013 Birichino Malvasia Bianca Monterey County White Wine
An aromatic dry white wine from 25 year old vines planted on rocky shale and decomposed granite and clay at 600' elevation up against the Santa Lucia Mountains in Monterey County. Our flagship white wine, recently featured as one of "20 Top Wine sunder $20 Worth Seeking Out " in the New York Times dining section this past January 2015.
2012 Birichino Grenache 102 Year Old Vine Besson Vineyard Central Coast Red Wine
A grenache from an ungrafted 102 year-old dry farmed vineyard at the confluence of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the Santa Lucia and the Diablo ranges. Produced in a very similar manner to our Pinots, with only minimal handling, punchdowns and pumpovers to retain freshness and elegance over massive scale and heavy extraction, this is a bright and lively grenache. Fermented with native yeast and cellared in neutral French barrels, and bottled unfiltered. Recommended by the San Francisco Chronicle in March 2014.
