The Hamel family has a deep connection to Cathedral School for Boys, with George III (class of 1999), John (class of 2001), and Luke (class of 2003) all being alums. George III (aka “GIII”) and John are now intimately involved with Hamel Family Wines (“HFW”) in Sonoma, the newest and most exciting winery project in Sonoma Valley.

Tonight is an opportunity for four lucky couples to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience at Hamel Family Wines.  HFW, located in the heart of Sonoma Valley wine country, makes a limited quantity of premium wines primarily from Bordeaux varietals. The winning bidder will enjoy a two-night stay for four couples at the Ranch House nestled among the vineyards at the Hamel Family Ranch.

Once settled on the estate, you’ll tour the newly completed winery that has been called “spectacular” by the SF Chronicle, where the author of the story added that she would, “love my everyday life to include relaxing on a padded wood lounge chair on the hillside terrace overlooking Sonoma Valley vineyards, a grove of 100-year-old olive trees and Sonoma Mountain, with a host bringing me wine.”

During your stay, you’ll enjoy a behind-the-scenes experience of Hamel Family Wines' new Estate House, Winery, and Caves that concludes with a barrel tasting of yet-to-be released vintages. To top your stay off, you’ll enjoy a private, multi-course dinner prepared by HFW’s Executive Chef, Clinton Huntsman (formerly of Bouchon and Calistoga Ranch), expertly paired with HFW's current releases.

And last but not least, to whet your whistle for your weekend in paradise, the winning bidder will leave tonight with a magnum of the inaugural 2011 vintage of Isthmus, HFW’s Bordeaux-inspired red wine.
