Interested in a career in Finance and Investment Management? Two students will get a top-notch view of a day in the life of an investment advisor with Whitney Solcher. A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Ms. Solcher began her career at Goldman Sachs and is now a Principal with Shepherd Kaplan, LLC an institutional investment consultant based in Boston, Massachusetts. The firm manages roughly $10 Billion in assets for 140 institutional and private clients. Ms. Solcher is responsible for growing the firm’s business in the Southwest, from their San Antonio headquarters, and is also a member of the Investment Committee which sets asset allocation strategy and manager selection for the firm.

During the morning, Ms. Solcher will give your students a high-level overview of the current macroeconomic environment, and how that drives her firm’s investment process, asset allocation decisions, and manager selection. She will then share her personal experience and advice on how to best prepare for a career in the investment management world over lunch.
