Your student will have a first-hand opportunity to shadow Dr. Teri Hospers one morning as she sees pediatric cardiology patients in her medical center office. Dr. Hospers is a pediatric cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart conditions in children. Trained at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and the Medical College of Virginia at Richmond, she is board-certified and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Cardiology. In addition to treating children with heart conditions, she has developed a cardiac screening program at a local high school and has a particular interest in treating athletes with cardiac concerns. Depending on the patient schedule, possible opportunities include the chance to observe patient exams, echocardiograms and more. Dr. Hospers will also share her experiences in her education and training, and give guidance about how to best prepare for a career in medicine.
