Up to four students will have an exclusive opportunity to spend a half-day at Valero Energy Corporation learning about all aspects of the refining and marketing business. Hosted by Jim Greenwood, Vice President for Government Relations, the students will begin their experience by meeting with Valero's top executives, tour the trading floor that handles transporting, loading/unloading, processing and selling approximately 126 million gallons a day of transportation fuels. From there, the students will meet with Julia Rendon Reinhart, Vice President Human Resources Administration & Refinery Operations, to learn more about the jobs Valero offers (accounting, legal, and more) and what a Fortune 10 corporation looks for in a college graduate, as well as educating the students on summer internship opportunities. Depending on students’ interests and availability, experience could include a meeting with the Mayor, members of City Council, state legislators or a member of Congress to discuss policy issues and/or potential internships during college or to tour Valero’s Three Rivers Refinery.
