This special opportunity affords one aspiring vet the chance to experience a real day-in-the-life of two veterinary specialists, Dr. Bradley Book and Dr. Meredith Esterline, at the South Texas Veterinary Specialists Hospital.

The student will have the opportunity to spend the day shadowing both Dr. Book, a board-certified small animal emergency and critical care veterinarian, and Dr. Esterline, a board-certified veterinary surgeon. Throughout the day, the student will have a chance to observe a variety of veterinary procedures including surgeries, endoscopies, MRIs and other advanced care treatments and procedures. As well, Dr. Book and Dr. Esterline will share the story of their training and experience and provide guidance for pursuing a career in veterinary medicine.

Student must be have completed middle school, and parent (or student, if over 18) must sign a waiver.
