Description

You will be captivated by Ricardo’s Office, a 6x6 inch Pen and Acrylic on Paper treasure by Saint Mary's Hall Upper School 2D art teacher Logan Blanco.  Mr. Blanco's experience as an artist and educator has been shaped from time spent in the Europe, the Southwest, and Mid-Atlantic regions of the United States. Of his work he says, ”Through my art, I distill a personal, tangible experience of people, places, and things…These everyday experiences are the material foundations I use to explore what I believe are more fundamental realities and what they mean to me.”

ARTIST STATEMENT:

Light for me is an event.  Its behavior nourishes my compulsion to paint.  Mundane objects, the figure, and the alluring views from within my studio have become a point of departure into my imagination.  The simplicity of my subject matter allows a multitude of possibilities that can lead me to unforeseen forms of fascination, creation, destruction, and redemption. These everyday experiences are the material foundations I use to explore what I believe are more fundamental realities and what they mean to me.  Through exploring experiences both imagined and presently felt, I hope to uncover a truth, a testimony of my nature; both formal and conceptual, concrete and boundless.
