Experience the Japanese martial art of aikido at the dojo (school) of one of the world's premier aikido practitioners, Sensei Shizuo Imaizumi, 7th-degree Aikido black belt. Aikido is a modern Japanese martial art developed by Morihei Ueshiba in the mid-20th century incorporating joint-lock and throwing techniques applied in self-defense with the intent of not injuring or causing only minimal damage to the attacker. 

Classes are open to all levels, women and men, no previous martial arts experience needed.

Your offer includes one month of unlimited classes and a private 30-minute introductory session with New Amsterdam parent and 1st-degree Aikido black belt, Aya Karpinska.
