Tour includes a walkthrough of the facilities, and afternoon of tastings, and conversation with the brewers. Sixpoint Brewery is one of several Brooklyn breweries. Set up in Red Hook, they were founded in 2004 by Shane Welch, a former homebrewer and self-proclaimed hippie from the Milwaukee area. Their logo is the six point star, which was used by brewers in the past to denote the purity of their beer. According to the Sixpoint site, each point of the star represents elements of the brewing process:  water, grain, malt, hops, yeast, and the brewer.
