The Trapeze Loft opened its doors in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn ln the Spring of 1999 under the direction of Tanya Gagné. The Loft was founded as a place to learn and improve circus skills in a professional yet relaxed and supportive environment. Personalized instruction is offered in private lessons and small group workshops.

In the Spring of 2011, The Trapeze Loft packed its bags and moved across town to its new home, Big Sky Works, a new multidisciplinary arts space, also founded by Gagné.
