For our sanctuary cats, with their many health issues, we feed a steady diet of both wet and dry food.  They have free access to the dry food, and they have wet feedings in the morning and again in the late afternoon.  Wet feeding are integral to the care we give at Shadow Cats and make a difference in their health and quality of life since so many of them are battling chronic medical conditions.  In addition to feeding regular canned wet food, we also often purchase prescription canned food for those that need it.

 It costs aprox $40-$50 per FEEDING to feed the 88 cats at the Sanctuary, including dry food.  We feed about 225 ounces of wet food at each feeding or 450 ounces total for the day, which breaks down to about 5 ounces per cat for the entire day or aproximately $100 per day.
