Description
No Parking Studio is run by engineer/producer Dean Jones. Dean is most interested in drawing great performances out of his clients by creating a creative, energetic, and inspiring climate. Listen to some of the music recorded at No Parking and give a holler if you want to come and record.
Dean Jones has been running No Parking Studio in lovely Rosendale, New York for over 15 years, producing a wide range of really great music, of his own making, and many others. No Parking is mellow and homey, with some great equipment, and even more importantly, a relaxed, but focused vibe. Dean has great ears and great ideas. He is a multi-instrumentalist who has many simultaneous careers in music, which allows him to keep fresh in all of his endeavors. He works as a one-man band with Arm of the Sea Theatre, a traveling environmental puppet theater, and with Hudson River Playback Theater, a socially conscious improvisational company. He leads the band Dog on Fleas, for kids and families, and has released 7 CDs with that band, and 2 solo CDs.
In 2013 Dean produced, engineered, mixed and played on Grammy winning Can You Canoe CD by the Okee Dokee Brothers. The same year he also recorded songs for Smithsonian Folkways artist Elizabeth Mitchell's Little Seed: Songs for Children by Woody Guthrie, which also received a Grammy nomination. Dean produced, engineered, mixed and played on the Okee Dokee Brother's newest CD, Through the Woods, which is nominated for a 2015 Grammy Award.
No Parking Studio is all about realizing the vision of whoever is recording in the studio. Dean is willing to do whatever it takes to make a great recording. We have so many talented musicians in the Hudson Valley area, and many wonderful friends willing to lend a guitar, or a sing a chorus. Dean has honed his recording and mixing chops over 20 years of working in studios and he works quickly and with an open mind, and really open ears.
