Deirdre Leber grew up in New York City and began exhibiting her oil paintings in 1986. She received her BA from University of Pennsylvania and her MFA from Brooklyn College. During her time at Brooklyn College she was awarded three merit scholarships. Leber has had solo shows at numerous Hudson Valley galleries including the Arts Society of Kingston and WAAM in Woodstock. Recently Deirdre had a one person exhibition at Hampshire College featuring paintings spanning 25 years of her exhibition career. Deirdre has participated in numerous group exhibitions at galleries across the country including the Paul Mellon Center, CT, Dragonfly Gallery in Martha’s Vineyard, Bryant Street Gallery in Palo Alto, CA, and the Mill Atelier Gallery in Santa Fe, NM. Deirdre’s work has been on the cover of the magazine Professional Artist and in the 2008 Women Artists Calendar published by Syracuse Cultural Workers Peace and Justice Publications. For the past 14 years she and her family have lived and worked in New Paltz, NY.
