When not building sculpture, Johnny runs johnnypouxdesign, a furniture and interiors company he started in 1999, ten years after graduating from Pratt Institute. Johnny has worked as a restoration carpenter, designed production furniture and lighting for mass market, and was part of an early movement to use cast concrete in furniture pieces, counters and bar tops. In 2009 and 2010, Johnny showcased his work in “Concrete on Main Street”, a two-day art exhibit of his large-scale kinetic sculptures, installed on the site of the old Willow Kiln cement factory in Rosendale NY. Johnny lives in Rosendale, with his wife and two daughters, three cats and some ducks.
