We did our graduate work at UC Davis, only 45 minutes away from California wine country.  Typically Napa and Sonoma were a couple degrees cooler (like 20!) than the central valley so on really hot days we?d pack a lunch and scrape up enough change from the couch cushions to go wine tasting. These are some of the wines we would have bought then if we could have.
