Description
Community Arts: Animal Portraits with Instructor Kristen Partesi.
Unframed and measure approximately 11x14.
On day 1, students (ages 10-13) will learn the basics of animal scketching and about the Rutland County Humane Society. On day 2, they will take a field trip to the local animal shelter where they will spend time interacting with the animals and learning about the shelter. There will be a specific focus on ways to prevent animal neglect, and how the arts can benefit this cause. Each student will choose 1 or 2 animals to learn further information on, and to use as the subject in the art projects that will follow. After returning from the shelter, we will discuss ideas for art projects and begin sketching. On day 3, students will complete one or more paintings using discussed styles of art. Completed artwork will then be put on display and either auctioned to benefit the humane society or donated directly to the humane society. This is a great community service project for any kids who have a love for animals.
RCHS has had the painting hanging in the lobby for everyone to enjoy. Now you can own it for your home and help the animals at RCHS!
