About Charles River Creative Arts Summer Programs:

One arts-filled summer. Four unique themes. Eight weeks of limitless imagination. Creative Starts provides an opportunity for children ages 5-8 to begin exploring and developing their artistic talents in an encouraging, stimulating environment.

Charles River Creative Starts provides an opportunity for children ages 5-8 to develop their artistic talents in a stimulating and age-appropriate environment. Each two-week session features a unique thee, typing together inspiring projects across a wide spectrum of visual and performing arts. Using the CRCA model, Creative Starts campers choose the activities that interest them throughout the session. With our dedicated staff, these campers build a smaller community of artists within the larger program.

In Summer 2014, Creative Starts sessions will run on the following dates:

Session A: Monday, June 23 through Thursday, July 3 (no camp on July 4)

Session B: Monday, July 7 through Friday, July 18

Session C: Monday, July 21 through Friday, August 1

Session D: Monday, August 4 through Friday, August 15

Session Themes:

  • Fins, Fur and Feathers (Session A): What do you get when you cross an aardvark, and an octopus and a room full of creative kids? From dancing like penguins to paper mache puppies, this session is positively crawling with animals!

  • Back to the Future (Session B): Want to make a movie about robotic kids taking over camp? Draw a comic about the year 2040? Sew your own pocket-sized alien? The sky has no limit when you’re in charge of imagining the future!

  • Once Upon a Camp (Session C): Do you love designing castles? Do you draw doodles of knights, fairies and dragons? Get ready to rock that crown, because we are all kings and queens in the world of summer camp fairy tales.

  • The Art of Science (Session D): Mix your own finger (or toe!) paint. Catch and sketch creepy bugs. Find out what happens when you mix a drop of science with a cup of creativity. We’re sure to have a blast this session when the worlds of science and art collide.
