And what if you are looking for a particular kind of piano method, and there is no one in your area who teaches it? What do you do? Taking piano lessons via Skype may be your answer. It is an easy, convenient and affordable way to study piano. All you need is a computer, a Web Cam (you can get a good one on Amazon for about 70 bucks), and a Skype account, which is free. Scheduling with a Skype piano instructor is easy since the teacher does not have to factor in driving time. This of course is something youd have to do if he were coming to you. This could limit his availability. There is also another advantage to Skype piano teachers being more available. If you have a musical problem during the week most Skype piano teachers will allow you a brief ironing out Skype session at little or no cost. This would be a lot harder to accomplish with piano teachers you travel to or with teachers who travel to you. So what are you waiting for? Get Skyping.
