Aikido is a form of self-defense developed in Japan by Morihei Ueshiba (O Sensei) which stresses learning to make harmony with opposing forces instead of combating them. It is a way of uniting body and mind to defend oneself through non-resistance rather than strength.

At the Dojo, the style of Aikido offered is Hombu Aikido under the direction of Shihan, Shoji Nishio Sensei (8th dan Aikido, 7th dan laido, 6th dan Judo, & 5th dan Karate) in Japan and are part of NASA (Nishikaze Aikido Society of America).
