Description
Is your child interested in politics? Or curious about how things work in a town? This is the perfect opportunity to allow them a glimpse into political life and how it all works, right here in Danville!!
Your child will have Danville Council Member Renee Morgan at their school to award him or her an official Council Member for the Day pin.
Council Member Morgan will have a discussion with your child's class on the role of a Council Member and a bit of local history.
After school, your child, a friend, and parents, will join Council Member Morgan at the Town Offices to get an inside view of how the Town and staff, as well as police department, work together to manage the Town. They will tour the entire town offices and get to meet Police Chief Simpkins.
You will finish the day at the Town Meeting Hall. You will be attending a real Town Council Meeting and being presented with a 'Commemorative History of Danville' book signed and presented by the entire Council.
The day will be either the 1st or 3rd Tuesday of the month to coincide with an actual Council meeting day.
Don't miss out on this chance for your child to experience a truly memorable day filled with special recognition, history, leadership and memories. Who knows...maybe this will inspire them to be Mayor or even President of the United States someday!
