Description
If you’re a waterfowl hunter, there is no better place than Butte Sink to enjoy the sport. You and a friend will head up to Colusa to hunt waterfowl in one of the most special places in the duck-hunting world. Some folks refer to it as the Stuttgart of the West, in reference to Stuttgart, Arkansas’ claim as the Duck Hunting Capital of the World. There are certainly similarities to the two, but it’s the striking differences that make this place so special. The title comes from the definition of two geographical differences. The “Butte” is an outcropping of mountains and rocks from a long extinct volcano. The “Sink” is the depression situated to its west that runs roughly 30 miles long and 5 miles wide. If duck hunting had its Seven Wonders of the World, Butte Sink would top the list. Hundreds of thousands of duck and geese flock to these wetlands every year, making it a prime area for hunting. This area also has breath taking natural riparian wooded areas, creeks and flooded natural ponds.
This weekend waterfowl hunt includes an evening and morning hunt, meals, lodging and transportation. Date to be agreed upon with donor. Requires 2015/2016 Waterfowl Hunting License.
Donated by the Connelly and Aberer Families
