Spottswoode is a family-owned historic vineyard and winery in St. Helena renowned for its exceptional, much heralded, award-winning Cabernet Sauvignon.

Established in 1882, the estate is distinguished by the historic Victorian home depicted on the Spottswoode label. Spottswoode was christened by Mrs. Albert Spotts, who owned the property from 1910 until its purchase in 1972 by the Novak family. The first Spottswoode Cabernet Sauvignon was produced in 1982, exactly one hundred years after the estate’s founding.

Dedicated stewards of their property, the Novaks were among the first to introduce organic farming practices in the Napa Valley in 1985. They have been certified by the California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) since 1992.

At Spottswoode, the overriding business principle is respect for the land, the history, and the customer. Their goal is to produce classic wines that faithfully reflect their grape origins in a distinct, refined style—in short, wines that are worthy to stand among those of the world’s great wine estates.

This auction lot offers the lucky winner a vertical of four 750 ml of highly lauded Spottswoode Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, from 2008 - 2011, rated 95, 96, 100, and 98 points by Robert Parker.
