Description

Frances Ortiz-Chávez first became interested in art as a 10-year-old non-English speaker. Not understanding what was being said or taught to her in school, Frances channeled her energies and found and used her artistic talent to express herself. As an adult she developed her artistic skills by enrolling in art programs and the UC Davis Institute of Fine Arts.

Living in the beautiful Napa Valley gives Frances plenty of subject matter for her paintings. But what really motivates her is creating visual interpretations of her true-life passions -- family, faith, heritage, traditions, community and social justice.

Her artwork has been exhibited throughout California and she has donated many of her pieces to charitable fundraisers, such as this one. As one of the Napa Valley's most endeared Latina artists and leaders, her art can be found in private collections in the United States and Latin America.

Four very fortunate individuals will join Frances for a 2-hour Basic Painting workshop and learn from a woman whose motto is:

I’m not just a Woman, a Latina, or an Artist . . .I’m all of the above and more!
