Description
Ed Massey is a celebrated sculptor, painter, installation artist, children's book author...and a WNS Parent!! Ed is the co-founder of Portraits of Hope, an art education and therapy program for children in hospitals and schools. His work has been on display all over the world and is renowned for its commentary on social issues and its emphasis on art in public spaces. Ed creates few original pieces of artwork annually and we are fortunate to have him offer them to WNS:
New Ed Massey painting series: 2015 - "The Spheres at MacArthur Park"
An acrylic painting on wood in hand made custom frames. The painting surface has a 43 inch diameter (48' - framed), and is an original painting by Ed Massey: 2015.
The heavily textured and sculpted floral paintings are the latest in Massey's oeuvre. The flower motif has been a constant and identifiable theme running in Massey's work for the last twenty years, when he conceived the idea for Portraits of Hope. The circular paintings are reflective of his newest creation: The Spheres at MacArthur Park -- The rounded floral design reflects his direct association with encompassing an urban body of water with fully float-able, floral painted spheres. The major public art exhibition is slated for this Summer, 2015.
