TUT:
Spike TV will premiere its first scripted event series in eight years, “Tut,” this summer.Oscar-winning actor Ben Kingsley stars in the series alongside Avan Jogia (Twisted) who will play the boy king. Alexander Siddig (Da Vinci’s Demons). Kingsley will play Ay, the Grand Vizier to King Tut. Canada's Muse Entertainment is producing for Spike TV. Tut shot in the desserts of Morocco and is currently in post-production. Auction winner will get a behind-the-scenes, all-access experience with the writer and director of this huge summer event series.
David Von Ancken Bio
Executive Producer / Director / Writer
David Von Ancken is a prolific television director and executive producer. He executive produced and directed the pilot, as well as executive produced and directed the first two seasons of AMC’s series, Hell on Wheels, which is currently going into its fourth season.
He just wrapped shooting on Spike TV's summer event series 'TUT'. He is currently executive producing and directing SALEM, the first series for the new cable network, WGN.
He has directed multiple episodes such popular series as Californication, The Shield, CSI:NY and Cold Case. And he has directed shows as diverse as Intelligence, The Following, House of Lies, Oz, Numb3rs, Heroes, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries and Person of Interest.
In addition to his work in television, David co-wrote and directed SERAPHIM FALLS, a civil war action-thriller starring Pierce Brosnan and Liam Neeson. David was nominated for Gotham’s Breakthrough Director Award for his work on the film.
David's acclaimed debut short film, BULLET IN THE BRAIN, won Universal/Hypnotic Films' Million Dollar Film Festival as well as numerous other awards at festivals including Rotterdam, The Silver Bear at Chicago and South By Southwest.
