The Parent Group Board presents their "Favorite Things-Outdoor" basket! This basket includes:

1. BBQ grill- Tal Kapoor
Why is this my favorite thing? This year we went on our first family RV Road Trip for 4 nights. We had a blast- By far the best vacation ever in our books. We were a group of 7 and every night my sister and I would take out this grill to prepare dinner. Oh YUM! It heats fast and cooks fast and is YUMMY in your TUMMY when it's all done! We hope you will enjoy this with your families too. XOXO

2. $40 Gift Card to REI and a 3 Pack of Travel Sacks by Eagle Creek- Amy Gordon

My family's favorite thing to do is find adventures.  Adventures is a broad term, but we can just as easily have a great time kayaking in the Puget Sound as taking a day trip to LEGOLAND.  Wherever our adventures take us, we are always wearing or carrying something from REI.  REI is also my main supplier of the BEST travel sacks ever -- the Eagle Creek Pack-It System -- which are always in my travel bag.  I hope when you take a little or a big adventure with your family, you will use one of these brilliant sacks and the REI gift card to add something fun to your travels.

3. 2012 La Fentre Pinot Noir- Carey Zeiser-Dix

My favorite place to hike, bike and meander around is the Central Valley and Central Coast of California. The wine country in this region is unparalleled: beautiful weather, incredible vistas, wonderful food and wine. Since my husband and I can usually only make it up there once a year, we have discovered the next best thing. Opening a bottle of beautiful wine from the Los Olivos Tasting Room, a local Santa Ynez Valley spot that specializes in fine, handcrafted wines produced by the smaller, local winemakers and wineries that for the most part do not have their own tasting rooms. This 2012 La Fentre Pinot Noir, Santa Maria Valley is a great example, with only 8 barrels produced! I hope you enjoy this free trip to the Central Coast, by way of this very special bottle of wine. Here are the winemaker's tasting notes: "Garnet and slightly pale toward the rim this wine is a great example of the vintage in the Santa Maria Valley. The nose hints of fresh strawberry and forest floor. Rose petals, red licorice, anise, lavender, cocoa nibs, raspberry, and black pepper make appearances as well. The palate is juicy and bright, with earthy undertones and soft tannins. The finish is reminiscent of a caramel apple and cinnamon. Drink now-2018."

4. Fifty Places to Hike Before You Die Book and Hiking Socks- Kim Bushell

I GO TO THE HILLS. I LOVE to hike.  Putting on my boots and getting out there is salve for my soul and joy for my heart! I love hills and mountains and streams and forests and meadows and canyons and valleys and deserts…and…the GREAT outdoors!! I love hiking with my husband and my daughter and my Dad and my brother and my friends.  And just on my own. I love looking out over an amazing view after a tough hike to the top.  I love looking down on clouds, birds or planes. I love being the only person for miles around.  I love the sound of rushing water and of the wind in the trees. I love the smells and the sights...and the silence. I have wonderful  memories of hikes large and small in a variety of places.  I hope you get as much enjoyment as I do from hiking…  GET YOUR BOOTS ON!
