From 1913 to 1938 the Buffalo Nickel was produced by the US Mint.  Buffalo Nickels are very popular. Older collectors who started by finding them in pocket change still enjoy and add to their collections. The price of the lower grade coins makes it easy for younger collectors to start. They are attractive in their design and price, giving them a value boost.
