Kindergarten Rocks! Inspired by a classic rock album, this year’s quilt stars each of our kindergarteners rocking out during their opening act (first year) at Burke’s. Each student designed a lightning bolt that is featured on the back of the quilt. The teachers then worked with the girls to highlight their individual strengths, which are captured alongside each girl’s lightning bolt. The photographs and artwork that comprise this quilt make it a unique and priceless work of art. Take home this cherished souvenir of the girls’ first, precious year together at Burke’s.
The making of the quilt was a collaborative effort that involved parents, faculty, Burke's girls, and key sponsors. The quilt was sewn in conjunction with Quiltworks, a non-profit quilting studio, and the printing of the custom fabric was donated by Spoonflower.
The 2015 quilt will grow more and more valuable as the class of 2023 continues making music at Burke’s and beyond.
