Description

1 Bottle of Selvascura, Toscana 2013, Italia, Principe Strozzi

In Tuscany’s Wine Spectator-praised “very good to excellent” 2013 vintage, his Selvascura (Italian for 'dark forest') took on even deeper, richer flavors from Franco’s rigorously selected Sangiovese, Cabernet and Merlot grapes. They are from three top vineyards near the ultra-premium village of Bolgheri (home to $200-a-bottle Sassicaia).

In the glass, you’ll find seductive aromas and silky flavors of tangy cherry and ripe plum, with satiny tannins and warm spice notes. Enjoy it like the Maremma locals, who’ve been famous since the Etruscan times for hearty beef dishes like Bistecca alla Fiorentina (porterhouse steak with rosemary and olive oil) and osso buco alla Toscana (veal shanks slow-cooked in tomato and wine).

A wine truly fit for a prince that also delivers serious value – hurry!
