Description

A fun one hour Art Lesson/Art High School or College Portfolio Prep with artist Fran Beallor.

Fran Beallor tutors High Schoolers looking to get into art college and Middle Schoolers for LaGuardia (& other art HS) auditions. She helps them put together the required portfolio of 10-20 artworks, and in the case of the Middle Schoolers, to practice the skills they will need for the HS audition. Fran also teaches younger kids and adults.

Students work on different genres - still lifes, portraits, self portraits, city scenes, abstractions, landscapes, etc. and investigate art topics such as: cool and warm colors; light and dark values; architecture; nature; art history periods and styles; etc.

Fran has worked with HS and MS students for about ten years.  Most of her portfolio students have been accepted to their schools of choice, including high schools (LaGuardia, Frank Sinatra & Fashion Industries) and colleges (such as Carnegie Mellon, Alfred College and Pratt Institute). You can see some of her students’ work on her website: www.franbeallor.com/Art/Art_Lessons.html

Mom of Juliana Gluck, HSAS alum, sophomore at Clark University.
