About the Author
Bernadette Shih was born in China and immigrated to America as a young woman. Shih is the author of a volume of poems, "Love: Leap of the Heart and a Sweet Tear". Her other publications include two illustrated children’s books: "Ling Ling: The Most Beautiful Giant Panda in the World" and "Good Friends"; and a biography of Mao Zedong, "Mao – A Young Man from the Yangtze Valley".
