Enjoy a long weekend at this lovely Normandy Beach, NJ house September 18th - 21st, 2015.  Approximately 250 feet from the Atlantic Ocean on the northern barrier island of the Jersey Shore, this lovely home accommodates up to 16 people and includes basic food items stocked and ready for your arrival.

Accommodations

The house sleeps a total of 16 people, and no more than 16 are permitted to occupy the house.  There are 8 bedrooms, three with queen size beds and five with twin beds (2 twin beds in each room).  The master bedroom, containing a queen size bed, is on the first floor and has a bathroom en suite.  It also has a TV connected to our cable service, and a DVD player  The second floor has two bedrooms with queen size beds (one with a TV equipped with a TV and DVD player-no cable) and three with two twin beds each.  The third floor has two bedrooms with two twin beds each, one with a TV equipped with a DVD player-no cable.  The second floor has two full baths, one with a bathtub and a single sink, and one with an enclosed shower and double sinks, and the third floor has one full bath with an enclosed shower and a double sink. 

On the ground floor, the public rooms consist of: a large kitchen with a table that can seat 12 people and 16 using folding chairs, which are stored in the ground floor lounge closet; a living room with a Bose CD player and many CD's, a large library, a gas fireplace, and an additional drop-leaf table that can seat 6; a lounge with a wet bar and undercounter refrigerator and freezer, a large TV connected to our cable service, and a DVD/VCR player with many discs and cassettes; a utility room with a washer and dryer; and a powder room.  

On the second floor, there is one public room with a couch and chairs, a library and a TV and DVD player connected to our cable service.  There is also a linen closet with sheets, blankets and towels for use on the second floor.

On the third floor, there are two public rooms with chairs and ottomans, a game table and four chairs, a chest of drawers containing games and puzzles, and a small refrigerator for drinks.  There is also a linen closet with sheets, blankets and towels for use on the third floor and another closet with board games and other games.

All the beds will have clean sheets and other bed linens on them when you arrive, and the bathrooms will be furnished with clean towels and bathroom rugs.  Toilet paper and bathroom cleansers, bath soap and other amenities will be available in the bathrooms or the linen closets.

Catering

Includes basic food items which will be stocked in the house on arrival.  This will include organic milk, orange juice, cold cuts, bread, lettuce, tomatoes, standard condiments, eggs, bacon, oatmeal, maple syrup, pancake mix, jam, peanut butter, coffee, tea, bottled water, crackers, cheese, hummus, fruit, potato chips and other snacks.  The kitchen contains a blender, a Cuisinart, a 14-cup coffeemaker, a built-in ice machine, and many other appliances.  Guests are welcome to bring any other food items they wish (including alcoholic beverages and soda, which will not be provided). Reasonable special requests can be accommodated, and the catering of dinners can be arranged (at additional expense), on two week's prior notice to Lauren Hakala at laurenvhakala@gmail.com.

The kitchen will be stocked with paper towels, dish soap, dishwasher detergent and garbage bags, and the utility room will contain cleaning products and clothes detergent.

There are BYOB restaurants and delis (one with a butcher shop), a pizzeria and an ice cream parlor within short walking distance.

Outside Amenities

The backyard contains a hot tub which will be serviced on Saturday morning.  Towels for the hot tub are in the Master Bedroom. There are picnic tables with umbrellas and benches which can accommodate 16 people, and several lounges and Adirondack chairs with cushions.  There is also a gas barbeque grill.

Swimming and other amusements

There are beach blankets and beach towels in the Master Bedroom closet and  beach chairs and beach toys in the outside storage box.  In September the ocean is quite warm (low 70's) and good for swimming.  There are no life guards on the beach after Labor Day, so swimming is at one's own risk.
