Description

A re-purposed window pane with the form of Johns Island and the words "A place to live easy and happy" etched into the glass. The words come from the beloved camp song "Acres of Clams." The frame still has existing hardware on it - a small brass latch at the bottom. The window pane was salvaged from the renovation of the camp Health Center in the fall of 2013. This is only the second glass etching project I've done but I think it came out quite nicely. I've touched up the letters twice to ensure they can be read well. The pane could be displayed easily by hanging it in an existing window, where the etching is back lit, to show the textured writing and shapes. Pictures show it held up in front of glass where natural light provides backlighting.
